This is an incredible revolutionary substance made of carbon, the atom that is contained in almost everything that exists… including diamonds. So it is no surprise that graphene is 100 times stronger than steel. And as you know, diamonds are formed from carbon at extremely high temperatures… and so is graphene.
Our system uses a unique 1,100o C (or 2,012o F) pyrolysis process to transform forestry products –a sustainable, renewable biomass energy source– and waste products, crop residues, railway ties, cattle manure, and even plastics and tires into high-value products.
Pyrolysis is the most commonly employed technology to convert widely available biomass materials into useful products like bio-fuels. Fast pyrolysis, the process of rapidly heating biomass in absence of oxygen (no combustion), produces energy-dense bio-oil and graphene from wood, plants, and other carbon-based materials.
Due largely to our system’s uniquely high temperatures, our pyrolysis process is unusually clean and “green.” Tars and other contaminants are recirculated back through the system to clean them out. Hence, our systems produce unusually low levels of CO2 – at 1/50th the level of the “clean natural gas” EPA mandate.
Our scientist discovered that he could vaporize carbon molecules and deposited them onto a copper substrate forming a sheet just one molecule thick. Then he removed that single invisible layer of carbon from the copper. This amazing sheet conducts electricity 1000 times better than copper and is 10 times more thermally conductive than copper. Perfect qualifications for super capacitors!
This will revolutionize how just about everything you can think of is going to be made in our lifetime. Mixing graphene in metals and plastics and fabrics will enhance them in ways that are just amazing.
Starting in 2009 the scientific community went on a mad dash to discover all the incredible uses of graphene. There was just one little problem. It cost thousands of dollars to only make a few grams of it. Only rich research labs could afford to buy it, much less to put it into common everyday items anyone could afford. Although their price keeps coming down, it still sells for $100 per gram or more. There are 453 grams in one pound, and that calculates to $45,000/pound.
If Good Year put 5 pounds of graphene into a large truck tire to extend its life, would you pay over $225,000 for that tire? Of course not! Compare that to $56.00* using the graphene we offer… as you will see in a moment.
Before we go on any further, we need to define some terms. There are four types of graphene on the market today.
The first is single-layer graphene on a copper substrate, which is very expensive and is used in electronics. Samsung, Apple, SanDisk, IBM and others have hundreds of patents concerning one-layer graphene and graphene balls and carbon Nano-tubes.
Second, there is the 2-10-layer graphene which is much cheaper and can be used for industrial uses.
Third, there are the over 11 layer-Nano-graphene platelets used for industry.
Fourth, there is the amorphous carbon, which is called biochar and is used on crops to increase crop production. Our technology creates all four types and then we separate them to sell to customers at different prices.
Biochar in nature was re-discovered in the Brazilian Amazon in the early 20th Century where it grows incredible crops. That brought about research to discover why it was so incredible for agriculture and how we should make it. Slowly, biochar is entering agriculture and will eventually become a major part of an increase in crop production to feed the growing population of the world. All of agriculture needs biochar.
Lastly, there is something called graphene oxide. This is not the same as the graphene we have just discussed. Unfortunately, some producers of graphene oxide are passing it off as high-quality graphene with incredible properties, when it definitely is not the same thing as true graphene. Buyers Beware!

My partners and I represent a company that has created graphene in a much cheaper way that can be used in industry… mostly. About 10% of our graphene is the single-layer type. Most of our graphene is the second and third type, which sells for 2.5 cents/gram, not $100/gram. 2.5 cents/gram X 453 grams/pound = $11.32 for one pound. If we add 5 pounds to that Good Year truck tire to extend its life, it would only cost an additional $56.60.*
Prices for tires used on semis vary widely depending on the size of the tire and the manufacturer, though prices between $400 and $600 are typical as of 2016. Some tires can cost as little as $300, while high-fuel-efficiency tires can cost up to $1,200 per tire. As with passenger car and pickup truck tires, larger semi tires tend to be more expensive than smaller tires.
Would you pay $56 more for that new extended-life truck tire? Of course! So, this dramatic drop in our prices will change everything for industry, since they can now afford to put graphene in many products and make them stronger, lighter, cheaper, etc.
Our second and third types of graphene have many uses in industry. It can be used in composite materials (add to Nano-fiberglass or carbon fiber) for sports equipment like bikes, snow skis, sport helmets, fishing rods and bicycle tires. It can also be added to highway tires, to paints for water-proofing, to 3D printing Polylactide (PLA) resin for strength, to graphene-enfused engine oil additive for longer engine life, to poly-conductive plastics and any product in the Nano-fiberglass market.
If you are working in the foam insulation sheeting industry for homes or commercial use, you can add graphene powder into the foam mix. This make it stronger, raise the R-factor by a factor of 10 and also makes it fireproof. Our engineers made a sheet of Styrofoam using this mix and exposed the foam sheet to a direct flame from a blow torch to see if it would burn. It didn’t. It just glowed red! Untreated Styrofoam can be set on fire with a cigarette liter, so this is a huge plus for home owners.
IF you are in the cement industry, especially pre-stressed concrete, adding graphene powder into the mix will increase the compressive strength, the tensile strength and insulation value considerably. And it cures in 5 to 7 days, not 20 days as with old fashioned cement. This freeze-thaw resistant cement/graphene mix increases the life expectancy of highways and bridges in Canada and our northern states by decades. And this water resistance also makes this mix ideal for wet locations
Our biochar for agriculture costs $1,000 per ton.* Farmers using biochar to grow hops (for beer production) got a 433% increase in productivity. Organic farmers and greenhouses will love our biochar. For high value products it is worth the price to add biochar into the soil and get greater production. Ancient peoples used biochar for thousands of years.
How does biochar increase productivity? Biochar absorbs water and fertilizer, and provides a home for certain bacteria to convert inorganic rock into organic food for the plant. If you have sandy soil, the water and fertilizer eventually disappear down into the ground. You can stop that with biochar.
Biochar is agriculture’s FUTURE, and especially in high value agriculture such as organic farming and in greenhouses. Pesticides and herbicides kill the bacteria in the soil that normally turns inorganic minerals into organic matter so the plant can use them. A little bit of biochar in each flower pot will produce a fast growing and healthy plant.
